Terminator 2

Arnold Schwarzenegger was by far the best aspect of Terminator II. I mean, who doesn’t like the Governator? The main reason that I disliked Terminator II is that I simply do not like action films. I enjoyed the overall plot of the movie, but it eventually became repetitive and redundant (yes, I did that on purpose) when the good terminator (Arnold) shot at the bad terminator in every single scene. Did it not occur to them that the terminator will not die no matter how many times you shoot him??? The movie ended up being way too long even though it had an interesting message. Would you change the future, knowing what the outcome would be? And how far would you be willing to go to accomplish your goals of saving the future of mankind? The technology and special effects helped a little bit to make the movie not quite as boring. The best parts were definitely when the Terminator molded his body into knives to kill people.

Terminator II: Judgment Day is an action packed film sequel staring Arnold Schwarzenegger, who plays an advanced “terminator” robot sent back in time to protect the future leader of the human resistance, John O’Conner. Arnold must protect the then ten year old John O’Conner from a similar if not more sinister and more advanced robot that has been sent back with the unpleasant task of killing the young O’Conner. The movie has a generally good plot, as well as acting, not to mention its jam packed with fight scenes. Based off these and the fact that for the time it has pretty good special affects, I gave this classic movie out of the early 90’s an overall high rating.

Terminator II: Judgement Day was, honestly, a lot better than what I had expected. The robots were probably the best seen so far and the special effects were great too. Although the plot was a little far-fetched, it was entertaining and at some times, emotional. Arnold Schwarzenegger makes the perfect terminator. In my opinion he makes the perfect everything. :)

The movie itself was very advanced and action-packed. I really enjoyed many of the fight scenes, especially the one inside the factory. Compared to the other movies seen thus far...I would rate Terminator II as an 8.

Terminator 2 is possibly the most exciting movie on our list of robot films. It is an action thriller based on robots that come back in time to carry out their specific tasks. The original Terminator (played by Arnold Schwarzenegger), came back to protect John, who has some sort of stake in the future of robots. However, a more advanced Terminator has come back also in order to kill John. The problem lies in that the new Terminator is stronger than the old one, and thus Schwarzenegger has a hard time protecting his friend. Another conflict within the film is the robots disregard for human life. They do not have any feelings or regret of remorse and kill people at will. John tries throughout the film to try to stop this behavior and teach the robots to care, but it proves to be difficult. The film offers good visual effects and sound effects. The robots are portrayed in the human form so the mechanical aspect of them is hidden underneath the flesh, therefore giving the makers of the film a break on the aspect of making robots that will look real enough to do what they do in this film. Overall, it was a good movie, being the second in a series of three; I would recommend it to anyone as an entertaining film to watch in your spare time.

I definitely remember Terminator 2: Judgment Day to be a much better movie than it was. Don't get me wrong; to this point it is definitely the most definitive, significant, and most action packed robot movie our class has viewed. The movie is about saving a boy named John from death from the future, coming in the latest robot technology. His destiny is to eventually be the human commander against the robot army, and the robots send a liquid type robot back in time to make sure he doesn't see those times. Fortunately, future John sees this coming and sends a Terminator (AHHNOOOLLD) back in time to protect his past self. Now enter 1994. Little John team up with the reprogrammed Terminator and his mom to destroy what will eventually become the beginning of the artificial intelligence that will destroy the human race. Now that the gist of the movie is out, the movie is significant in the sense that it shows what can happen if humans let technology get ahead of themselves. Artifical intelligence is not something to tamper with, it is something to fear. The special effects in the movie were great, and were probably mind blowing in the 90's. As of today, not so much, but i remember when it was the most kick ass movie EVER! Has that kid been in any other movies since then? I am going to look him up on IMDB...

Terminator 2 actually wasn't that bad of a film. I think, as an action sequel movie, it holds its own with chase scenes, fight scenes, and explosions galore. The plot is kind of twisted- he was bad in the last one, but now he's good and he has to save the little kid from the more advanced robot that he somehow manages to defeat anyways. But obviously, plot isn't the main concern in a movie like this, and if you don't expect a lot of thought-provoking comments on humanity from it, you can definately enjoy watching this movie. For me, one of the best things about it was the Terminator (the original Schwarzenegger one, not the new guy). Ahhnold's ridiculously bad acting actually works for the robotically serious killing machine. He is awkward and funny at times, and he makes sense, because he is made for one purpose and he can't really do anything else. I also love that he is actually a robot, because there are all those action movies with the tough-guy hero who's so emotionally damaged by his life/job/situation/whatever that he acts like a robot, until the climax where he reveals hithro unknow emotional depth. This movie is way better because when that scene comes around, all Terminator does is kill himself despite the begging crying kid. Priceless. But anyway, it was a decent movie, passable special effects, and lots of fun action. Entertaining, if not very deep.

Terminator 2 ended up being a pretty decent film in regards to our purpose of robotic study. The movie not only had good special effects and awesome depictions of robots, but it also raised many issues that are some what controversial in science. The robots have no feelings, and yet the good robot ends up being a better father to the young boy than any human could have hoped to be. In this sense, a robot is better than a human. Yet throughout the movie, the boy tries to teach the good robot that killing is wrong, and it is apparent that this will never make sense to him. The robot can never have human emotions. Likewise, the movie depicts the controvery over actually having human-like robots. The robots get out of control and cause chaos! Would this really be productive in society? In the end, the good robot realizes that he himself must be destroyed for the good of humanity, showing the fear of technology taking over.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day is an action packed, suspense, sci-fi thriller...all the things anyone could ask for in one movie. The visual effects are stunning, and the idea of a liquid-metal android that can assume the shape of any like-sized object it comes in contact with is just AWESOME !!! The plot behind the story is easy to follow, however it is also pretty unbelievable with all the time travel and liquid-metal robots and such. The film does a good job of picking up where the first Terminator left off, following the development from the chip and mechanical arm left behind by the robo-Arnold that got crushed in the compactor in the prequel. The combat scenes between Arnold and the liquid-metal shape-shifter are intense, as well as the scene when Arnold reconnects with his "commando" side and takes on the entire S.W.A.T. team. After the liquid-metal fiend has finally melted away in the vat of molten hot metal, the scene of Arnold being lowered into the same melting pot adds an emotional aspect to the film. I almost shed a tear when I saw young John Connor watch Arnold, the best "father" he ever had, being incinerated and melted. This put a sad, but final ending to the coming of Judgment Day ... until the makers of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines made an additional storyboard to the Terminator saga.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day was and exciting gripping movie that kept me on the edge of my seat. I felt that by far, this movie is the most entertaining we have watched so far. The movie itself involves two android robots known as “Terminators”. Each Terminator robot is sent back in time for a different task. One is sent to protect the young John Connor, the boy destined to lead the futuristic human resistance against the robots, while the other is sent to destroy him. The robot sent to protect John, is a standard android built with a solid metal frame. The other robot is a new breed of android made out of a liquid metal which is able to morph to fit the appearance of others. The movie was action packed and really kept the viewer interested for the entire duration of the movie. The plot of the movie was very easy to follow. Although there were a few little things that would have been cool to know from the events which unfolded in the original Terminator, the movie did a very good job of filling in the blanks for the viewer. The visual effects of the movie were very advanced considering the time it was filmed. I really enjoyed how they depicted the liquid metal robot. The realism of the movie seemed plausible for the normal android with the advances in technology we have made today, but the plausibility of the liquid metal robot doesn’t seem very possible to me. Overall I really enjoyed this movie and felt that the plot and visual effects were what really pulled this movie together.

Two men arrive in L.A. both searching for the same thing, a boy named John.  One man, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character, is John’s protector.  The other, out to get him.  This movie is an action filled drama, with an engrossing plot.  It is based upon the creation of a computer program that will ultimately destroy humans.  John’s mother, Sarah, realizes that by destroying the inventor, the program will not be released, but she is unable to kill him.  The Terminator and John catch up to her and together with the creator of the computer program attempt to destroy everything relating to its completion.  They are stopped by the police and attempt an escape.  The other man, the one out to get John, is hot on their trail.  The eventually destroy him and the program. Ensuring the safety of the human race.  This movie was by far the best out of the ones we have watched so far.  I would say that the inematography was decent, and the plot fluid.  It made sense and the robots included were utilized wisely.  I understood this movie even without seeing the first.  I would rate this film as a 6, overall.

Terminator 2 is a great movie. It is filled with enough action and explosions to keep any guy happy however also contains some substance. Arnold Schwarzenegger is a robot from the future sent to protect John from an evil robot sent back to the same time. Arnold plays an excellent robot, showing little emotion however he seems to become attached to John. This is very touching and somehow the audience feels for Arnold and becomes emotionally attached to a robot, if that is possible. Most of the movie the two robots are in constant conflict which neither seem able to be destroyed. Arnold defeats the seige of a S.W.A.T. team without killing any of them, on the orders of John. There are great special effects with the robots and the chase scenes are plenty of explosions. Terminator 2 is a great action movie that also has a good plot and is entertaining for almost all audiences. I recommend this movie to everyone. Also, if u enjoy this movie check out Terminator one and three. All of the movies in this series are standalones but the audience and understand the whole concept better if they have seen all of the movies.

Terminator 2 is one of the few movies that was able to live up to the reputation of it's great prequel Terminator.  This movie is great choice for this wiki group as it is a very entertaining watch with a good plot and is centered around the role of robots (in the movie called "terminators") sent from the future.  In this movie, the robots from the future are keen to kill the main character John Connor because they know the key role he will play against them when he is an adult, so they're only option is to send killing machines back in time with killing John Connor as they're number one mission.  This goal of the robots can be seen also in the first movie.  This time Arnold is not sent back to kill John Connor, but to make sure he survives the attacks of another more technologically advanced terminator sent by the robots.  These terminators are made to resemble humans, but are simply killing machines in disguise.  The special effects and intense fighting scenes are enough to keep any action movie fanatic on the edge of their seat.  I reccomend this movie to anyone looking for an action packed movie, but I feel it is very important to watch Terminator 1 before you do.  To fully enjoy the movie, one must know what happened in the prior film.

This reviewer will seem unappreciative of the excitement, flash, and special effects to be found in the film, Terminator 2, but the movie is not one of my favorites.  It lacks a good story.  The movie is simply one fight after another and once I grew tired of the shape-shifting and nifty molten metal special effects, I just wanted the movie to end.  It is clear to me that the age and gender of the viewer matters with respect to films such as this one.  If the director shortened the film to perhaps 60 minutes rather than 137 minutes, I could appreciate it much more.  As it is, I cannot give it a positive recommendation.

Terminator II was an appreciated change of pace for our film selection. It was not too complex and didn't take a lot of thought or analysis to figure it out. Thankfully, it was exciting and dramatic, and unlike THX 1138 or 2001: A Space Oddyssey, it was easy to follow and enjoy. The basic concept of the film was a battle between good robots and bad robots. And who is better suited to protect the human race from the bizarre-shape-shifting-robotic-aliens than Arnold Schwarzenegger? In this movie, the robots actually got to play the good guys, which was certainly a change from the previous films. I actually really enjoyed this film more than I thought I would.

Terminator II possessed the same good vs. evil theme that we have come to expect from movies and literature, but it presented the old argument in an unusual fasion - unusual in the context of other movies we've watched for this project, at any rate. Instead of technology representing either good or evil, Terminator II used them to represent both, in a very direct way. A major feature of the movie was literally a "good" artificial being struggling against a "bad" artificial being of similar description. This provided the... they're not exactly robots... this provided the Terminators with very human characteristics, much moreso than in other films and other situations. The scenes in which John Connor are attempting to teach human values to the mechanical being show a remarkably more optimistic view of cybernetic organisms than the films that were the products of the Cold War era; those scenes actually show two conflicting views of robotics, the first of which provides for a somewhat optimistic prospect that robots and cybernetic organisms could one day learn or be trained in human values and become respectable members of society. However, the inherent problems the Terminator has in understanding these values, in the long run, show what a long and hard road that will be. Teaching respect to a computer... not sure I would attempt it. At the same time, the Terminator who was bent on destroying John at all costs illustrated the dangers of technology running rampant. Reminds one of the "Three Laws" and the importance of being sure that technology is designed thoroughly and properly deployed into society.

Terminator 2 is an action packed movie where Arnold Schwarzenegger plays a robot from the future that gets sent back in time to save John Conner, the future leader of the human race as they battle robots after Judgment Day. Arnold must battle another, more sophisticated, robot from the future that can morph into any metal object or person. There are numerous good fight scenes and lots of explosions and gun fire; it’s a real thriller. Arnold can take round after round of gun shots because of his advanced metal skeleton, but in the end after fighting off the bad robot and saving John Conner and his mother, must commit suicide by drowning his self in a pool of molten metal. It was an interesting movie and definitely was action packed, but it wasn’t my favorite type of movie and I was kind of bored by it. The special effects were decent and the technology was up to date. I give it a 6 out of 10.

Termiator II: Judgment Day is a far superior sequel to the first movie, as Ahhhhnold turns into the good guy fighting to save the O'connor boy.  Supposedly he was reprogrammed from the first movie to protect the future leader of the resistance from a metaloid, more advanced robot, bent on killing him and ending the war before it starts.  Ahhnold doesn't let it happen though, as he somehow stops a stronger, faster, and smarter robot than he time and time again with overacted and rediculous fight scenes.  Personally, I love Schwarzenegger's movies just because Ahhhnold's acting is so hilarious.  The dude tries to act but he always comes out sounding robotic anyways, so he was a perfect cast for a lifeless killer robot with an Austrian accent.  I especially liked the action scenes in the movie, for it probably had an explosion every three minutes.  And time-travelling robots from the future are always cool.  I gave this movie an 8 out of ten, for the action and the Ahhhhhhhnold.

I was a little leery to see Terminator 2 because I had not seen the original; however, this was not a problem. Terminator 2 is an action packed film that displays the cons and pros of robots. The good Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is sent back in time to help protect John, who will play a major role in the future of robots. The advanced Terminator (Robert Patrick) is trying to kill John. The advanced Terminator is better than the original Terminator because it is made of liquid metal and is harder to defeat because it can transform and is very intelligent. Terminator displays the good side of robots by helping John fight the advanced Terminator; however, Terminator 2 brings out the important point that robots do not have human feelings or a regard for life. Although Terminator is good, he kills people with his gun without a second thought. These actions frighten John, and he tries to teach the Terminator that this is not correct. The robots in this film took the form of human beings. The only difference was that these robots were practically invincible, and you could only tell they were robots when they were shot and the bullet hole revealed metal. The audio and special effects in this movie are very captivating and do a great job of bringing the fighting action scenes to life. I especially liked when the advanced Terminator transformed to liquid metal. The only negative point of this movie is that it is too long. The movie itself lasted 137 minutes, but many scenes could have been left out and not affected the plot line. I enjoyed Terminator 2 and recommend it for its action-packed plot and graphics that added a unique quality to the video.

Terminator 2: Judgement Day is the classic "guy" movie.  Filled with action, guns, and explosions, what more can you ask for?  In this Sci-Fi thriller, the young boy John Connor is the target of assassination by a killer robot from the future.  Who will save him?  Well that's obvious, another killer robot from the future.  This movie is another that shows worry over new technology.  Showing signs of nuclear war, assassination via time travel, robots that not only govern themselves but engage humans in war.  I enjoyed the acting in this movie.  Arnold accurately portrayed a robot, but then again, when doesn't he do that?  The special effects and sounds, while not perfect, added another level of excitement and enjoyment to the movie.  Overall, this is a very entertaining futuristic action thriller, and it also has some great one liners.  Come with me if you want to live!
